　　Sean: What about that restaurant down by the river?
　　Olive: Do you mean the one with peacocks running around the garden?
　　Sean: That's the one. It's very traditional and I just love the atmosphere.
　　Olive: And it's such a warm and pleasant evening that we'll be able to dine alfresco on the riverside terrace.
　　Sean: Yes, that would be lovely. And with the sky so clear we'll be dining by moonlight. How romantic!
　　奥莉芙：看完电影，去哪里吃饭呢？
　　肖恩：去河流下游的那家餐厅怎么样？
　　奥莉芙：你是说花园里有孔雀四处走的那家？
　　肖恩：不错。那家餐厅很有传统风味，我很喜欢那气氛。
　　奥莉芙：今晚天气温暖宜人，我们还可以在河畔平台上露天用餐。
　　肖恩：是啊，那将很写意。今晚天空无云，我们可以在月下用餐，多么浪漫！
　　奥莉芙说：It's such a warm and pleasant evening that we'll be able to dine alfresco。Alfresco也作al fresco，本是意大利文，意思是‘在清新空气之中’，英文借用，解作‘户外’(outdoors)，作形容词(adjective)、副词(adverb)都可以，例如：We enjoy having alfresco dinners on summer evenings/We enjoy dining alfresco on summer evenings（夏天晚上，我们喜欢在户外吃饭）。To dine alfresco是常用语，切勿把那al略去。Fresco是‘湿壁画’，即在新(fresh)涂上灰泥的壁上所作图画，和alfresco字源相同，意思则完全不同。现在不妨谈谈such a warm and pleasant evening that句式。Such之后往往用‘（形容词）＋单数或复数名词’，有‘某人、物是如此的……’含义；其后可用that字带出结果，但这个that可以略去，例如：He is such a (great) fool (that) he will believe everything you say/They are such (great) fools (that) they will believe everything you say（他/他们愚蠢得无论你说什么，他/他们都会相信）。
　　上述的such... that句子一般可用so... that改写，但so之后须用形容词，不用名词，例如：He is/They are so foolish that he/they will believe everything you say。有时，‘so＋形容词’之后可用名词，但这名词必须用a或an带出，即必须是单数形式，不可用复数名词，例如你可以说He is so foolish a man that he will believe everything you say，但不可以说They are so foolish men that they will believe everything you say。
