That really had them dancing in the aisles.
Robbie: That was the best concert we've given on the tour so far.
Dave: Yeah, the kids here really go for our stuff.
Robbie: I've never heard such yelling, especially from the girls.
Dave: They obviously liked our latest hit best.
Robbie: Yeah, that really had them dancing in the aisles.
表演令观众捧腹大笑或手舞足蹈,英文有一句俚语很传神:have them rolling/reeling/laughing/dancing in the aisles(令他们在观众席通道上翻滚/旋转/大笑/跳舞)。 (1) At the dinner party, the host's jokes had the guests rolling in the aisles(晚宴上,主人的笑话令宾客笑倒在地)。(2) The stand-up comedian soon had the audience rolling in the aisles(那站着说笑话的演员,令观众笑痛了肚皮)。 (1) Drawing my gun, I had everyone in the bar running for cover(我拔出手枪,酒吧里的人一见,连忙跑去躲起来)。(2) Don't do that, or you'll have people laughing at you(别这样做,否则会招人看笑话)。
I'll have him clean the rooms(我会叫他打扫房间)。 I'll have the rooms cleaned(我会叫人打扫房间)。
The kids really go for our stuff。Go for是动词词组(phrasal verb),可解作‘喜欢’,例如:I don't go for science fiction(我不喜欢科幻小说)。
