　　‘遥远’英文是remote，He lives in a remote village即‘他住在一个偏远村庄’。遥控器是remote control，常简称为remote，例如：Have you seen the remote (control) for the TV/garage door?（有没有见过电视/车房门遥控器？）用遥控器转电视台，英文叫zap，例如：Would you stop zapping the channels!（别不断转电视台好吗？）因此，电视或录像遥控器也叫zapper，例如：Hand me the zapper please（请把电视遥控器给我）。
　　叫人家别不断转台，除了说stop changing/zapping channels，还可用flip字：Stop flipping channels please。Flip本来是指‘迅速翻阅’，例如He flipped through the book是‘他迅速翻阅了那本书一遍’引申解作‘转电视台’。叫人家固定看一个电视台，则可以说：Stick to/with one channel。莎伦说：My mother got really annoyed with my father yesterday evening。现在请读者回答一个问题：yesterday evening可不可以改为last evening? Last是‘刚过去的’，例如‘去年’、‘上星期一’、‘昨晚’等是last year、last Monday、last night，但是，last evening却很少人说，多说yesterday evening。 ‘昨天上午/下午’更只能说yesterday morning/afternoon，不能说last morning等。同样，‘明年’，‘下星期一’等是next year、next Monday，但是，‘明天上午/下午/晚上’却只能说tomorrow morning/afternoon/evening/night，例如I'll see him tomorrow morning（我明天上午会见到他）一语，不能改为next morning。
