Publishers say the success of the Stephen King e - book shows that electronic publishing has a real future. Officials of the publishing company Simon and Schuster are talking to other writers about doing the same thing.
That could be a good thin or a bad thing. Experts say it raises many questions. Should a writer be permitted to publish an e - book without using a publishing company? What will books look like in the future? Will they become part of our computers? Publishers disagree about the answers to those questions. But Stephen King still supports the traditional printed book. He says he does not believe anything will replace it, at least not in his lifetime.
